This is my first ever blog post, I just wanted a blog. Just cause (or cuz maybe?). I will post more about stuff I'm into when I get a chance. Right now I have a thesis to write. It's basically about genocide if you're interested. I'm a bit embarrassed by it, which I think isn't helping the situation, but I'm hoping to find some/anything interesting. Anyone got a dataset ? Anyways, before I get back to work, here are some things I've enjoyed in the past two days:
1. Jose Gonzalez - I'm late on this bandwagon, but I really enjoy Veneer. It's an album that I can savor like a fine wine. I'm really into covers right now. I forgot how much I enjoyed that Cat Power covers album.
2. Stranger than Fiction - Really really underwhelmed by the commercial publicity, but I was really really surprised. Best movie I've seen all year, although this and Spiderman 3 are the only two I've seen this year.
3. New Kind of Science - Stephen Wolfram is crazy. I wish I were him. Or at least as smart as him. Or at least as rich as him. Actually, I just want a copy of Mathematica.
4. Fresh Direct - its expensive, but the convenience can't be beat. I might order from them every day for the rest of my life.
5. Gamin - gamin rocks. python-gamin - Rocks harder.
6. I miss my thinkpad.
